The Writing Institute is Pakistan’s largest institution for Creative Writing. Founded by critically acclaimed and national bestselling author, Awais Khan, the Institute caters to students from around the world. Over 10,000 students have taken courses at the Writing Institute with a satisfaction rate of almost 100%.
Students have the option of either taking actual classes (most of which are held in Lahore) or the online ones. The online courses have seen students from Pakistan, India, USA, UK, Australia, UAE, Denmark, Singapore, France among other countries.
Courses are taught by people who are experts in their respective fields. Here’s a brief introduction to the team:
Awais Khan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Durham University. He has studied Creative Writing at the prestigious Faber Academy in London. He is the Founding Director of The Writing Institute and has a teaching experience of over ten years.
He is the author of “In the Company of Strangers” published by Simon & Schuster and The Book Guild. He has recently signed a two book deal with Orenda Books in the UK. His work has appeared in the Aleph Review, Missing Slate, The Hindu, The News International etc. He has given lectures on Creative Writing at Durham University, American University in Dubai, Canadian University in Dubai, United States Educational Foundation of Pakistan etc.
He regularly appears on TV and Radio to talk about his work and writing in general e.g. Dubai Eye, Voice of America, Cambridge Radio, Luton Radio, City42, PTV Home, Samaa TV etc.
